• Wednesday morning I made it to my favorite spin class. As usual there were lots of popular beats. Rather than the usual lonnng climb, we did shorter climbs over the course of a song and alternated these with sprinting songs. I much preferred this but found my legs were pretty tired later.
Though I was out of town for most of Sunday, returning back to NYC, my current home, on September 11 was a strange feeling. I live downtown, and though a good 15 minute walk from the site, B lives right next to it, so it’s a constant presence. Walking back from the Wall St gym, I saw the familiar gigantic American flag had been placed on the stock exchange. I struggled with what else to say in this post, but because this is a healthy living blog, I will say I am so thankful to not have lost anyone in the terrorist attacks, so thankful to be living in downtown NYC, so thankful that I have healthy breathe in my lungs and working arms and legs that allow me exercise and move freely every day and so thankful that I live in a country that allows me to do so. On that note, I leave you with a 50 minute, America inspired playlist in case you are feeling patriotic as well.

This blog served as my day-to-day training record for the New York City Marathon with a little bit about how I have fun in the city. I finished my first marathon in 4:17:48 and had the time of my life. I also raised over $2000 for Camp Casey. Post marathon this blog will follow just some of my continued healthy endeavors and races and will provide me with a place to record great running articles, quotes or facts I read. Enjoy!
